Matt Bitsche and Russell Reynolds met on the basis of a craft beer bumper sticker. The two exchanged their beer interests, and the rest was history. Wichita Falls Brewing Company began construction in 2017 and opened its doors to the public on March 30, 2018. They are a craft beer brewery with a family-friendly environment. They strive for laughs, entertainment, and community.

Bitsche is originally from Wichita Falls, moved to Austin, TX, started a brewery, and then decided to return home. Bitsche, who still has a close relationship with Infamous Brewery in Austin as a partner and consultant, has a decade of experience in commercial brewing operations and distribution.

Bitsche first came to the SBDC at MSU in 2010 with business start-up questions to open a beer brewery in Wichita Falls; however, he decided that Wichita Falls was not ready for a microbrewery at the time. Fast forward to late 2016; revenues and plans for a new brewery in town are beginning to take shape.  About the same time, Bitsche began working with the SBDC for assistance with research and developing a business plan when they entered a local business plan competition.

Wichita Falls Brewing Company was announced as the i.d.e.a. WF Start-up winner in October 2017. In November 2017, the business participated in a Downtown Business Crawl hosted by the SBDC at MSU. The crawl highlighted downtown businesses and encouraged networking. Although the brewery wasn’t open for business, they welcomed people in and spoke about their business, answered questions, and gave tours of their 7200 sq. ft. street-level building, still in the working phase. It was a unique opportunity for those who participated in the crawl.

Bitsche and Reynolds continue their excitement for their shared passion for craft beer as their brewery and taproom see the people of Wichita Falls embrace their family-friendly brewery concept. They are still thriving today and are the highlight of many people's Thursday evenings with their trivia nights that leave the brewery packed with teams.
