Half Pint Taproom & Restoration Hall

In 2010, Dent Keltner and Cynthia Doten had dreams of bringing a true craft beer bar to Wichita Falls. After a year of looking for the perfect location, they purchased the building that would eventually become Half Pint in February 2013.

Keltner came to the MSU SBDC in August 2013 to discuss his plans for business. Keltner had been working on a business plan, and the SBDC assisted with modeling his financial data. Research was requested, and his business plan was fine-tuned over the next several months.

By July 2014, Keltner and his partner had over 1,600 hours in demolition and restoration of their building.

Half Pint officially opened on December 4, 2017. The name of the business comes from an unexpected treasure that was found while plumbing was being done on the building. A cluster of old bottles was found about four feet below the foundation. The ones that were still intact were half-pint whiskey bottles. Half Pint is a unique bar featuring a rotation of 36 craft beers, craft cocktails, wines on tap, and brick oven specialty pizza. They also have an event venue area, Restoration Hall, that features a permanent stage and its own bar area. The room has been the stage for comedians, live bands, and private events.

Half Pint Taproom and Restoration Hall is the perfect example of entrepreneurs having a dream, working on the dream, and then finally seeing the dream come true.
